A MAN was mauled by a dog and kicked by four men in a Bolton park.
The victim, in his 20s and from the Great Lever area, was walking across recreational land off Parkfield Road, Bolton, at about 8pm when he was set upon by the dog, believed to have been a Rottweiler.
He claims the dog may have still been on a lead when it jumped up at him, knocking him to the ground after which he says he was kicked in the head and body by four men. The man, who has not been identified, had earlier been out drinking in Bolton town centre prior to what he says was an unprovoked attack.
He suffered a bite wound to his left hand which medics at the Royal Bolton Hospital had to stitch, as well as puncture wounds to the back of his left leg.
Anyone with information about the attack on Saturday night is urged to contact DC Lesley Garratt at Bolton police on 0161 872 5050. or Crimestoppers on free phone 0800 555111.
