RAMSBOTTOM United return to NWCL Division One action tonight with a clash at the Riverside Ground against Flixton.

On Saturday the Rams crashed out of the FA Vase in a 3-1 home defeat by Northern League side Easington Colliery which exposed serious failings from the back, with sloppy defending, to front, with wasted chances numbering nearly into double figures.

Hopefully that was a one off for the Rams who can concentrate on picking up points for games in hand on all rivals and bettering the current seventh in the table slot.

Experienced defender Dave Roach appears to face a lengthy lay off after being stretchered off in Saturday's cup defeat. This calamity followed close on the heels of the midweek bad news for manager Ken Bridge when central defender Warren Brierley having resumed training aggravated his knee injury is now said to be "back to square one". The game kicks off at 7.45pm.

Atherton LR entertain Tetley Walker in a Division two fixture tonight.
