BOLTON bosses are the best in Britain, says Mrs Margaret Potter. She should know. Last night, at the Crest Motel, Bolton, Mrs Potter, who has worked in several towns around the country, was chosen as Bolton's Secretary of the Year. Mrs Potter, aged 32, of Gisburn Drive, Bury, beat nine other contestants for the title and a £100 travel voucher.
EDGWORTH area children who were kept off school yesterday by parents in protest against a new bus timetable were back at their desks today. They travelled in a special mini-bus laid on by Greater Manchester Transport, who said a permanent single-decker bus would soon be provided.

SIR,- I was pleased to note that the Watch Committee evidently agreed with me regarding a taxi service from Moor-lane. What astonishes me is how the 15 existing hackney carriages can be expected to cope with the demand at Trinity-st. and Moor-lane, especially in view of the fact that every day except Sunday, quite a number of these cabs are taken off the rank and used as funeral cars. - Yours etc., Private Hire Operator.

THE establishment of the Bros. Rizareli may now be regarded as a permanent place of entertainment for the public of Bolton, large numbers of whom nightly visit the large amphitheatre on the Wholesale Market. The town of Bolton is by no means overdone with places of amusement, therefore the excellent entertainment provided by the Rizareli Bros. must be regarded as an acquisition by the pleasure-seeking portion of our population. The artists may now be said to be at home at the Circus, the machinery, with the natural intricacies attending such institutions, both before and behind the scenes, working smoothly, and the performances pass off without anything worthy of the name of a hitch to mar the enjoyment of an entertainment as diversified as is possible in the three hours during which visitors remain in the building.
