FANS of bygone modes of transport will be interested in a zany competition at a Manchester museum.
Greater Manchester Museum of Transport will be playing host to a 'Top Gear' type contest involving three varieties of old bus which once travelled the streets of Bolton, Salford and Wigan.
The old buses will be tested for their handling, speed, comfort and even their looks as they speed through the street of Manchester tomorrow.
The three shiny, but rather slow competitors are a Leyland Titan, a Guy 'Arab' from Lancashire United and an AEC Regent.
Museum spokesman Paul Williams said: "It may seem odd to road test anything that's 30 years old, let alone a bus.
"But bus enthusiasts are terribly loyal to their favourite make of bus and the results will be keenly awaited."
