I TRAVEL on the B9 Stagecoach bus from Little Lever to New Bury six days a week. It is the ONLY bus from Little Lever to Farnworth, and then on to the hospital. It only runs every hour, so it is usually quite full.
Two weeks ago we were told by the drivers that the service was going to stop on October 18.
As soon as I arrived home I rang up Stagecoach (Manchester) who told me to ring their Preston number, who told me to ring Ribble, who told me to ring Ribble at Bolton. All four telephone calls told me the same thing -- that the bus was NOT being taken out of service.
On October 18, I caught the bus and, to my disgust, there was a notice on the window stating that the bus WAS being taken from service at the end of October -- and no one can tell us whether it is being replaced by another company.
It will make it very difficult for me to get to work, but I am more concerned about people who have to get to the hospital. We are losing out in Little Lever, once again.
