BOLTON South East MP Brian Iddon presented the certificate when a Bolton company achieved the ISO9001 quality standard.
Dr Iddon visited the British Turntable Co in Emblem Street and Carlton Street after hearing about the successful manufacture and installation of a 30m diameter revolving restaurant mechanism at prestige offices in Tripoli, Libya.
After presenting the certificate to Operations Manager Phil Childs, he congratulated the company on its success at home and abroad.
"I cannot stress highly enough how important it is for MPs to visit local businesses," he said.
"MPs travel widely and as such are in a unique position to act as ambassadors on their constituents' behalf."
British Turntable has been working to quality systems for a number of years to satisfy the needs of large organisations, such as the Ministry of Defence and the Ford Motor Company.
General UK Consultants of Wigan worked with the company on preparing and implementing procedures after the decision to move towards formal accreditation was taken 12 months ago.
Business Link provided funding through Bolton Business Ventures.
