A BOLTON student showed he was game for a laugh after he was set up on TV in front of millions of viewers.
Chris Reddy, 18, of Alexander Road, Tonge Moor, was the subject of a wind up when he appeared on the Channel Four show-biz show The Priory.
He was in the studio in London with presenter Jamie Theakston while his girlfriend Lisa Martin was filmed in a pub in Bolton.
The student at Liverpool University had to allow horrible things to happen to his girlfriend for prizes in a test of whether he would put love before money.
Each time he was asked, he agreed to have tricks played on Lisa, 18, of Queens Avenue, Bromley Cross.
He let her eat a beef burger which he thought a dog had licked and even allowed her to have mop-bucket water poured on her head.
However it turned out that angry Lisa had been backstage all along and the action had been pre-recorded.
Chris said: "My mates set me up because they told the producers I was good for a laugh.
"Jamie Theakston really got me going but I thought it was pretty funny in the end."
The young couple, who are sweethearts from Thornleigh Salesian College, were given a holiday in Dublin and a DVD video player for being good sports.
