WE would like to draw readers' attention to the plight of thousands of bears subjected to torment and cruelty in countries where bear dancing, bear baiting, bear pits and other obscenities to these beautiful creatures still continues.
Libearty is still a little-known charity, but the Bolton Group, although small, is dedicated to trying to help the bears by fund-raising to help rescue them and place them in sanctuaries where the fortunate ones can live out the rest of their lives in peace.
Our next event is an auction on Saturday, November 18, at Longsight Church Hall, Harwood. Viewing starts at 1.30pm and refreshments will be available, and we shall also have a supply of literature illustrating the suffering of these bears.
