A BOLTON student put her best foot forward on behalf of a local charity when she took part in the Great North Run on Sunday.
Jenny Warburton, 21, of Bradshaw Meadows, Bradshaw, ran the 13.1 mile course in just two hours 24 minutes and had a whale of a time despite becoming exhausted towards the end.
The former Turton High School pupil has raised at least £300 for Bolton charity Vision Aid which is collecting cash to cover the cost of their move to new premises later this year.
Jenny's mum, Susan Warburton, said: "Jenny was absolutely exhausted by the end of the run and I thought we would have to carry her home!
"We cheered her on and she did ever so well to finish the course so quickly because she has never done anything like this before.
"She came home for the night for a rest and then went back to uni, but her legs were so sore she could barely drive."
Jenny, who is a Health and Sport Studies student at St Martin's College in Lancaster, wanted to help out Vision Aid after reading about the good work achieved by the charity in the BEN.
