Northern Ireland and western Scotland can expect clear spells, and scattered blustery showers. Eastern Scotland and the Northern Isles will be rather cloudy with occasional rain, and a brisk north or north-westerly wind.
Tomorrow: Southern England and South Wales will be rather windy with a mixture of sunshine and scattered showers. These will be heaviest and most frequent in the south-west and along the south coast where some may be accompanied by hail and thunder. North Wales and north-west England will have sunny spells and scattered showers, some heavy and prolonged. Eastern and north-eastern England, together with eastern Scotland will be mostly dry with sunny spells and just a risk of a shower. Western Scotland, together with Northern Ireland will have blustery showers.
Outlook for Wednesday and Thursday: Wednesday will be windy across the whole country with a mixture of sunshine and showers. These will be heaviest and most frequent in the west and north. Thursday will continue unsettled and windy with further rain or showers, and a risk of more prolonged rain and strong wind in south-eastern England for a time.
