WHEN last Monday I printed pictures, sent to me by Mrs J. Allsop, of St James's CE Junior and Infant School, taken in 1953 (you may recall, one of them showed young people getting their school dinners), it brought back memories to Maureen Stephenson (nee Whelan), who tells me via e-mail that she was also on the picture, and that one of the dinner ladies shown became her mother-in-law!
'Unfortunately,' she writes, 'my memory has faded somewhat (Oh, Mrs Stephenson, thousands of readers looking at this will understand what you mean! Memory -what memory?), and I cannot recall the names of all my classmates; I lost touch with many as I went to live abroad after I married in 1963.
'If anyone would like to jog my memory, I can be contacted by e-mail - mosteve@msn.com.'
For those of you who do not have e-mail, I cannot help you. I do not know Mrs Stephenson's address (or even the country she lives in!), so it's no use sending anything to me to forward. No doubt someone you know can send an e-mail for you!
