IN the U7s Alpha Section, Bolton Lads & Girls Club had a well deserved victory over Brandlesholme by 2-0 with Gowans and Holland sgrabbing the goals.
Hindsford notched up their second home win in the last two weeks with a 3-1 win over Bolton County Pumas and 5-2 against Bolton Lads & Girls Club. Tyson and Audrey were on target to ensure victories for Hindsford.
In the U7s Beta Section, Bolton County Panthers have also earned six points over the last two weeks with victories over St Mary's Bullets and Bury Rangers B. Adamson, Kaye and Cunliffe netted the goals for the Panthers.
Oxford Grove had a fine home win 2-0 against Bury Rangers B. A goal each for Collier and Oldroyd gave Oxford Grove three points. Bromley Cross were in scoring form when they won 4-0 away at Little Hulton. A 3-3 draw gave both Westhoughton Rangers and Ladybridge Bulldogs a point each in the middle of the table. Capstick, Lowe and Murphy-Griffiths scored the Westhoughton goals.
In the U8s Section A last season's champions Brandlesholme Warr A dropped league points for the first time ever when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Boothstown Casuals in a thrilling encounter .
Brandlesholme led twice with goals from Lewis Proudfoot and Luke Chapman, but Boothstown levelled with equalisers from Ben Dyson and Chris Smith. Both managers gave praise to all the lads for a tremendous game of football.
Bolton Lads & Girls Club avenged last week's cup exit with a 4-1 home victory over Westhoughton Rangers. Two goals for Lee Worswick and one each for Ben Carlisle and Dalian Prescott secured the points to keep them in top spot. Alex Killey scored for Westhoughton.
Bury Rangers A move up the table with a narrow 2-1 home win over Hindsford Wolves. Dean Grindrod and Thomas Finch hit the target for Rangers. Ladybridge Bulldogs and Maccabi Cubs worked hard in the mud, with Josh Hargreaves scoring his first goal for the club, together with one each for Alex Meaney and Adam Anwar giving the Bulldogs a 3-0 victory.
In the U8s Section B this week all games were postponed due to the monsoon.
The top of the table clash in the U8s Section C turned into a six goal thriller with Rivington Juniors going top of the league with a 4-2 away win at Bromley Cross A. James Houghton (2), Kevin Hunt and Kiran Thomson scored the winning goals for Rivington.
Two other teams in the leading pack also netted six goals between them, but this time honours were shared when Oxford Grove and St Mary's Trojans drew 3-3. Matt Leach (2) and Alex Jackson scored for Oxford Grove. Jack Sneddon (2) and George Heaton replied for the Trojans.
Bromley Cross B had an exciting 5-3 home win over Walshaw Park Warriors to secure their first points of the season. Chris Shorten (2), Elliot Ramsden (2) and Shane Wolfenden all hit the back of the net for Bromley Cross B.
In the U9s Section A, teams are so desperate to play after so many fixtures lost to the weather that North Walkden A played with only six players, and still turned in a respectable performance against the seven Woodbank A players. The game was won for Woodbank A by goals from Morris (2), Bennet and Lees.
An exciting derby game between the two Hindsford teams saw the Reds emerge as the winners, with their star on the day being Jackson, who scored a hat-trick. Moore also scored for the Reds, and Aspinal and Phillips-Cambray scored for the Whites.
In the U9s Section C, Westhoughton Rangers continue their winning league form with goals from Fisher (3), Cunliffe, Sharrock, Shepherd and Bury. The scorers for North Walkden were Pearcy and Fletcher. Woodbank B won at home with goals from Wiggins (2), Whelan, Hamdam and Ennis. Forte scored both goals for Oxford Grove.
This weekend saw the U10s Chairmans Cup getting underway, with the draw throwing out some interesting ties. Hindley Juniors and Bury Rangers were involved in a 12 goal thriller, with Hindley holding out for a 7-5 victory! Section B side Hindsford Sharks B won 3-0 at Section A Woodbank! Oxford Grove and Little Hulton both had comfortable wins over teams from lower sections. Rivington Juniors and Walshaw Park Warriors played out an exciting tie with Rivington just edging it 4-3.
Bolton Lads & Girls Club won at Bolton County Bulls 2-0. Another Bolton County side, the Crusaders, had a fine 2-1 away win at St Mary's Eagles.
