A CHORLEY village was the venue at the weekend when South Ribble Orienteering Club held its latest competition.
Orienteering is a sport in which contestants race on foot over a cross-country course consisting of checkpoints found with the aid of a map and compass.
The competitors descended on Brinscall on Sunday for the "full colour coded" event -- meaning there were different standards for them to take part in.
Runners used their skills as they made their way through White Coppice Woods.
A spokesperson for the club, which has members from the Chorley area, said: "We hold events in various places about once a month." SETTING off: Jo Styles and Jo Bayley, from Horwich
