TWO pensioners nearly got in a flap when they almost ran over an escaped budgie in Euxton.
Bill and Doreen Stott were amazed when the bird flew in front of their car at Saddle Bridge last Thursday.
Bill chased the bird over a hedge before catching the feathered tearaway.
"I don't know where it's come from, but it's not very old," said Doreen, 74.
"But I'm frightened of the dog getting excited and jumping up at it."
Bill, 75, added: "It's very tame. Somebody must be missing their pet."
Bill and Doreen, of Chorley -- both ex-budgie breeders -- are looking after the pale blue bird until its owner is found.
