Horwich residents are celebrating after winning a battle to have barriers put up to stop motorcyclists using land behind their homes.
Bolton West MP Ruth Kelly backed people from Edward Street in their bid to have barriers extended after repeated problems with motorcyclists riding on nearby fields.
Bolton Council will now put up extra barriers to stop the bikers getting into the fields.
Ruth Kelly said: "Local residents have been plagued by these riders and I am delighted that Bolton Council has taken action by preventing them from gaining access.
"These riders were not only causing a nuisance but also endangering people who are using the fields, especially children."
Horwich Police will also be taking a tough stance against the bikers.
Inspector Peter Holden said: "Whenever we catch these people I will invariably sanction prosecution of the riders and whenever possible I will ensure motorcycles are confiscated."
