WHILE we welcome the development of the former Bolton fire station in Marsden Road, we share the dismay of reader Don Tonge that the whole frontage of the building is not being saved.
Certainly, the impression that many of us had was that the frontage, not just "important architectural features" of the building, would be preserved.
It is all very well for Paul Sedgwick from developers DAG Developments, to say they are working with the council's conservation officer on what bits to save.
We think the people of Bolton should be told why the entire frontage which is so aesthetically pleasing should not have been preserved.
