NORWEB Telecom has called on the Government to consider personal tax incentives to develop teleworking as a new part of British working life.
Managing Director Hugh Logan says: "There is now a very strong case for offering sizeable personal tax incentives to people prepared to work from home.
"The recent fuel crisis, the rail crisis and now the floods have shown dramatically how dependent the nation is on traditional transport.
"It has highlighted a real weakness in the structure of our economy.
"Properly developed teleworking policies could significantly reduce these dependencies and enhance the quality of life for tens of thousands of people."
