BUS passengers were trapped after a minor crash on a busy road.
Up to 11 people could not get out of the Ribble double decker bus, driven by John Wrench, aged 52, of Fairhaven Road, Bolton, after its door opening mechanism was damaged.
It followed a collision with a Mercedes van, driven by 22-year-old Lee Brindle of Greystoke Drive, Sharples, at the junction of Kay Street and Higher Bridge Street at 10.40am.
It is understood the passengers were freed when the door was forced open.
Nobody was injured following the accident which blocked the junction for about 15 minutes. The damaged bus Ref: H4380/22
