THERE'S been a lot of success for Tempest United over recent years, just last season the Chew Moor outfit triumphed in the Bolton Hospital Cup, but nothing approaches the dizzy heights of next Monday night's Goldline Trophy in association with the Bolton Evening News meeting with Charnock Richard at the Reebok Stadium.
United team manager Micky Farnworth held the reigns at the club in its most successful decade, returned to be first team supremo at the start of this season and he has only one aim.
"The first thing I said to the players when I came back was 'If you like losing there's the door. Get out and stay out," said Farnworth.
"There is never any thought of defeat at all in my mind and I want the same with my players. I fully expect to be in there in the shake-up for every competition I enter. We only enter things to win them as far as I'm concerned.
"Now we are going to have a whale of a time at the Reebok and we'll relish every minute of it. The fact that it's Charnock Richard we are playing makes it even better for us. We just can't wait to get out there."
Kick off next Monday is 7.30pm. The penalty prize competition on the night will be between Atherton Town and Rivington.
Tickets for the final priced at £2 with £1 concessions are available from all Goldline participating clubs or from Keiran Tilley on 0161 723 5879 or Bob Shuttleworth on 01942 816417.
