IT'S not often that mums follow in their son's footsteps .... but here Lostock mum Gladys Kay is happy to do just that.
She's copying her son, Vernon Kay -- international model turned TV presenter -- to take to the catwalk for a spot of modelling next week.
It will be all in a good cause when Gladys, aged 55 -- who is more used to selling fashions at Whitakers in Deansgate than modelling them -- joins fellow store staff to stage a charity fashion show.
It takes place at the Bolton Posthouse in Beaumont Road next Thursday evening, to help the children's emergency 'phone charity ChildLine.
And, just as Vernon, now 26, moves away from modelling and into the studio limelight as a presenter on such screen favourites as children's TV's FBI and Top of the Pops2, Gladys will be starring in a Fashion Review for Business Women.
As a taster for the £10 a ticket bash, Gladys models an Olsen outfit of woolmix skirt at £69 and mohair jacket £99, teamed with a dark green knitted top at £39 and scarf at £39.
Tickets for the show are available from Whitakers' customer services, and from Gaynor Lawton at ChildLine North West, 1 Sickle Street, Manchester M60 2AA, tel. 0161-834-9945.
