WELL, the 60 days are nearly up. I hope and pray there is no more fuel trouble and, judging by the letters in these columns, maybe the people are going with the flow, so to speak. Maybe a case of pure selfishness, maybe petrol is not too dear after all? Petrol is precious and will not last forever.
Most people drive fast, therefore I deduce these people can afford the price. Some drivers could almost double their miles per gallon if they needed to. Maybe these people who want cheaper petrol are the same people who object to wind turbines, on the grounds that they are unsightly. And they also do not think ahead for the next generation.
Wind turbines are the best we have got now and we must make do, in place of oil, coal and nuclear power stations. I believe all this rain now is due solely to pollution and that nature is only purging itself to get back to clean air. This may seem a bit heavy, but, I believe, nature will always beat man and his greed and selfishness, whatever the cost.
