MARK Fish refused to get involved in a war of words with Sam Allardyce after the Wanderers boss has said his recent performances made it clear he wanted to leave the Reebok.
Fish, who joined Charlton for £700,000 this week, said: "It's sad it's caused that kind of reaction but life goes on - it's all in the past now."
The South African international said that he had received calls from fans and former team-mates over the manager's comments but insisted he did not want to get involved in a public slanging match.
"I'm not really going to react to that because the players I have been playing with week in week out, my family and people who know me will say that I give 100 per cent all the time."
Fish added that two or three Wanderers players, including captain Mike Whitlow, had rung him with best wishes for the future.
One senior player, who did not wish to be named said: "Mark has got his move to the Premiership which is what he wanted and good luck to him."
Charlton boss Alan Curbishley said: "I tend to think that once a player has left that's it. I don't see any point in criticising him. He's played in virtually every game for them this season and they find themselevs fourth or fifth in the table.
"But this is happening more often now with players coming to the end of their contracts."
