Last Season v Wanderers: Two draws - what else! Ricardo Gardner's 86th minute goal rescued a point at the Reebok (Per Frandsen's last game before his transfer to Blackburn). Barnsley had come from behind to lead 2-1 with goals from Craig Hignett and Darren Barnard. Gardner remembers the Oakwell return for much different reasons, having been stretchered off with serious knee ligament damage. The game ended controversially, 1-1, after Dean Holdsworth's "winner" was ruled out by the referee who later admitted making a mistake. Holdsworth had put Wanderers ahead with a 43rd minute penalty, Eric Tinkler equalising just after the break.
Last match: Barnsley 1, Blackburn 2.
How they lined up: Miller; O'Callaghan, Morgan, Chettle, Barker; Sheron, Maddison, Ward, Ripley (Corbo 77 mins), Van der Laan (Neil 33 mins), Jones (Dyer 54 mins). Subs not used: Moses, Thomas.
Top Scorer: Neil Shipperley - 8.
Danger Man: Stuart Ripley, who numbers Wanderers' among his former clubs after a brief loan spell (15 years ago would you believe?), has been signed on loan to add experience to Dave Bassett's Tykes. He still boasts Premiership skills and will be dangerous if he's given space to work.
Last six results: Blackburn (home) lost 2-1; Wimbledon (home) lost 1-0; Preston (away) won 2-1; Wolves (home) lost 2-1; Gillingham (away) 0-0; Tranmere (home) 1-1.
Coming up: November 18 - Sheffield Wed (home).
