I TOTALLY agree with C A Wilson when he says that Farnworth should have large, up-to-date toilet blocks, with attendants, baby changing, and not forgetting, disabled facilities. These are long overdue.
But I am not impressed with his suggestion that the unwanted so-called superloos, be relocated to Barrow Bridge, to replace the pervert-ridden block that is there now.
If we do this, we are just relocating the problem we have, at the moment, in Farnworth.
Mums with children, some elderly people, the disabled, claustrophobics, etc., etc., would still have the same problems at Barrow Bridge.
Oh yes, it would stop the perverts performing, or children walking in on them unexpectedly. In fact, children under 10 are not allowed to use these monstrosities, unaccompanied.
The only satisfactory place for the relocation of these abominations, is the nearest scrap yard.
We need toilets at Barrow Bridge, and all other locations, that everyone can use. This is our right.
And anyhow, do you really believe that everyone needing to use the toilet at Barrow Bridge, would pay to use these monuments to madness?
Children, and others, would very likely walk unexpectedly into members of the public showing the Council exactly what they thought about 'superloos'.
What is really needed, is a team of mobile toilet cleaners, one man, one woman, and a van, to start with, patrolling the unattended toilets, cleaning, and clearing out the unwanted rubbish that is somehow attracted to these places. It wouldn't cost the earth, after all, there aren't that many toilets left to patrol.
