THE PLAYERS are a newly formed amateur drama group whose members consist of some experienced seasoned actors and actresses, well-known on the Bolton drama circuit for performances in comedies such as The Outside Edge, A Fish Out Of Water and A Basinful Of The Briny.
They are staging Comfort and Joy in February next year. Although lesser known than Last Tango in Whitby, and Fur Coat And No Knickers, this Mike Harding comedy takes an amusing, yet all-too-familiar look at a family re-united for Christmas with the usual disastrous results! Rehearsals are already under way every Wednesday at 7.30pm at Hindley Green Labour Club, Leigh Road, Hindley Green, where it will also be performed, from February 21 to 23 next year.
Two main parts in the play have yet to be cast -- Martin Duggan, a middle-aged Irish navvy and Fiona, a middle-aged woman with a strong Australian accent.
Anyone interested in reading for these parts, or joining The Players in a non-acting role, should contact the producer, Wendy Leadbetter on 01942 810217.
