SWINTON bobbies have a new boss.
Supt Jack Dees has taken up his post with Greater Manchester Police after the retirement of Supt Peter Morris from the sub-division.
He was promoted from the rank of chief inspector on joining GMP and was among 31 officers from around the country who responded to an advertisement for the post in Police Review.
Supt Dees served a total of 17 years with Northumbria Police, interspersed with eight years in the Metropolitan Police.
In his last posting, he was Detective Chief Inspector at Newcastle East, based at Byker - where his police career began.
