A LANCASHIRE MP has said "lights, camera, action" to a predicted jobs boost.
Janet Anderson, Film and Broadcasting Minister, has revealed up to 50,000 new jobs are set to be created in the country's creative industries over the next three years.
The MP for Darwen and Rossendale made the revelation at the London College of Fashion's Millennium Conference adding that the new jobs would not be confined to the capital but cities like Manchester, Sheffield and Birmingham would also benefit.
Creative industries -- which include advertising, design, performing arts, TV, film and computer games -- already generate £60 billion of revenue each year and employ 1.4m people.
Mrs Anderson said: "These industries are a vibrant, exciting, productive part of the economy -- they make a difference!
"They also have significant growth potential and we can realistically expect to see the creation of 50,000 new jobs over the next three years.
"Government and industry need to work together to build on what we have achieved -- together we can make a difference." Janet Anderson MP -- 'We can make a difference'
