IOMMI: Former Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi releases his first solo album, collaborating with a variety of musicians and vocalists, including Ozzy Osbourne. Very heavy!
LENNY KRAVITZ GREATEST HITS: 15 track greatest hits package in a variety of styles from a rocker with a 10 year career.
Nice memories, but has he been away too long?
THE ROACHFORD FILES: Again a greatest hits package with some new material thrown in. Currently touring the UK, but like Kravitz, has he been away too long?
JOI: See main reviews for the 'Gifted' album. Brilliant production makes this something special.
Asian music highly influenced by reggae, hip hop and soul. Good stuff!
MAGAZINE: Yet another greatest hits package from a band that only ever really had one Enigmatic band whose singer, Howard Devoto, used to been seen drinking in the Howcroft, I believe.
HANNAH MORRIS 'A STAR IS BORN': Local schoolgirl releases first album and single. Not my cup of tea, but my daughter loves her. Loads of promise though if she sticks with it
JULIENNE TAYLOR: Scottish songwriter/singer with a competant style, if a little too much like a solo Corrs.
First single 'Second Hand News', the old Fleetwood Mav hit (why not one of hers?)
ATOMIC KITTEN 'Right Now': Described by their record company as 'pop's finest trio' which may well be true, but then again there aren't that many trios around are there? What about the Walker Brothers anyway?
MOJAVE 3 'Excuses for Travellers': Good band with a Cowboy Junkies feel, and a good taste in Dylan covers. Only just missed a full review, which would have been full of praise. Next time perhaps?
