CHORLEY Panthers Junior RLFC chalked up some excellent performances on Sunday with only the under 9s team disappointing.

The Chorley youngsters put up a brave performance against a strong visiting side from Wigan. Early tries came from Brad Ibbison and Patrick Taylor and debutante Bradley Mason-Cooper was impressive on his first outing. The man-of-the- match was his superb all round performance was try scorer Nathan Crawford.

Royton Tigers 24
Another fine performance saw the home side win this one with some brilliant attacking football. The platform for the win was built with some strong running from Josh Buckley, Danny Robinson and Cameron Sharratt. Ryan Berry and David Henderson were a constant threat, both going over for fantastic individual tries. Men-of-the-match for displaying superb ball handling skills were Ryan Addison and Geoff Wilson.

The visiting side were always up against it when being entertained by a powerful Warrington outfit. The highlight of the game came when Taylor Bristow managed to breach the Rylands defence when he scooted from acting half to go over. There was some good defence from James Robinson, Elliot Hindle, Dan Statters and Carl Bridge and this was complemented by some excellent attacking moves from Thomas Nicholson, Callum Alderton and Sophie Cylok.

A magnificent team performance gave the visitors a well-deserved victory. The win was based on a solid team defence that was quickly off its line to snuff out any Leigh attacks. Man-of-the-match Damon Anton adapted well to the full-back role with good runs out of defence and he was rewarded with a fine try. Other try scorers were Josh Charnley (3), Nicholas Buckley, Stacey Hudson and Bill Scarff who had an excellent game directing play.

Mayfield 0
A well-drilled performance from a hungry Chorley side kept the visitors pointless. Jamie Ellis went over for the first try and this was quickly followed with further scores from Stephen Lucas, Scott Atkins and Alistair McGoldrick. The contest was over by half-time and further tries in the second period came from Neil Thomas, Alex Slater and Michael Robinson.

Chorley's season came together in an excellent game. Chorley started well with a try from Steven Mayren in Chorley's first set of tackles. This set the mood of the game with Chorley running the show in the first half, with tries from man-of-the-match Anthony McMullen (2) and Mark Davies, converted by Sean Andersen and and Graham Davies. Strong running from the forwards, man-of-the-match Paul Whittaker and top tackler Danny Dean set up a good try for Thomas Hindle. Most improved players Michael Addison and Michael Hilton ran the half-back position well. Adam Mayren played well in his debut.
