ACTRESS Jean Alexander -- aka Auntie Wainwright in Last of the Summer Wine -- caused a stir in Lancashire.
She was in Chorley to visit the new RSPCA charity shop, which works closely with Preston's RSPCA shop, at 66 Market Street. A crowd gathered as Jean -- also famous as Coronation Street's redoubtable Hilda Ogden -- posed for pictures and signed autographs.
Jean also met Dinky the rescue dog which had been cruelly treated, and although blind, now lives happily with an RSPCA volunteer.
All the funds from the new shop will go towards funding the RSPCA and helping animals like Dinky. PUPPY love: Actress Jean Alexander meets Dinky
