CHORLEY'S Olympians received a hero's welcome at the Town Hall this week.
Cyclist Jason Queally and equestrian Jeanette Brakewell were guests of honour at a civic reception, hosted by Mayor Councillor Tom McGowan, to celebrate their achievements.
Jason, from Whittle-le-Woods, won Britain's first gold at the Sydney games in the Kilometre Time Trial. He said he was thrilled to be able to bring his medal home, and had had an incredible welcome by people everywhere.
Jeanette, from Brindle, collected a silver as a member of the British Three Day event team. She said: "It feels brilliant to be back and especially to a reception like this." Jeanette is currently looking for sponsorship for forthcoming events.
The pair, who met for the first time this week, were also welcomed by the town's MP Lindsay Hoyle, members of the council, other civic dignitaries and guests. Mayor Tom McGowan is pictured with Olympic medallists Jeanette Brakewell and Jason Queally.
