THE Total Fitness Health Club at The Ellesmere Centre in Walkden has opened its new extension, which considerably enhances the existing facilities by providing a unique hydrotherapy area.
The new facilities, including a rejuvenation/therapy pool, sauna, steam room, sanarium, and hot and cold foot spas, are proving extremely popular with the members.
Hydrotherapy combines two of nature's most effective pain-relieving agents -- air and water. Together they produce invigorating bubbles that massage the body and ease away pain.
The superb rejuvenation pool, which produces jets of water at various angles, provides relief for the following:
Tension/stress
Joint pain
Back pain
Rheumatic pain
Stiffness
Muscular pain
Fatigue
Sleeplessness
General aches
Minor circulatory problems.
Any activity in water maintains and improves mobility and relieves muscle soreness following strenuous exercise.
Research has shown that use of hydrotherapy pools can improve the blood and lymphatic circulation, relaxing tension in the muscles and calming the nervous system.
It is also claimed that the seat-pad jets of the rejuvenation pool help combat the problem of cellulite.
It may sound too good to be true, but seeing is believing, says the Total Fitness management. The new facilities need to be experienced to fully appreciate the benefit of water-based therapy.
