TWO police officers were injured early this morning when their van collided with a lamp-post as they responded to a burglary.
The male passenger in the van had to be cut free by firefighters after the accident in St Helens Road, Leigh, at 2.30am.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire Service said: "There was quite a bit of an impact and the door was crushed. Both officers were badly shaken."
It is believed they were travelling to a reported break-in at the Robin Hood pub in St Helens Road.
