DETECTIVES have arrested a second man in connection with the murder of Bury taxi driver Tariq Javed.
The 29-year-old was detained by officers at an address in the town at around 4.30pm yesterday.
He was still being interviewed by officers at Bury Police Station earlier today into the death eight days ago of Mr Javed.
The body of Mr Javed, aged 48, of Richard Burch Street, Bury -- who worked for Peel Taxis -- was found in Alder Avenue last Thursday night.
A 21-year-old Bury man appeared in court yesterday accused of murdering the taxi driver.
Mark Anthony Baker, of Hazel Avenue, is also charged with robbing Mr Javed on November 9.
He appeared before Bury magistrates flanked by three security officers in the dock.
During the 20-minute hearing, he spoke only to confirm his name, age and address.
Defending solicitor Mr Stanley Sumara applied for reporting restrictions to be lifted but this was refused. Baker was remanded in custody until November 23.
