FORMER mayor Ralph Snape, 71, is recovering at home following a mini-stroke -- just a day after returning from London where he proudly joined the official Remembrance Day tributes.
Stalwart borough councillor Ralph, who represents West ward as an independent, suffered the stroke at his Collingwood Road home, Chorley, on Monday evening. He was treated by a doctor but was not admitted to hospital.
Ralph and his wife Joyce, 67 -- also an independent councillor for West ward -- were preparing to attend the civic reception for local olympic heroes Jason Queally and Jeanette Brakewell at Chorley Town Hall when he fell ill.
He said: "It was right out of the blue. We were going to the civic reception at the town hall and I was just here having a cup of coffee about 5pm watching TV."
