SAM wants the crowds bigger at the Reebok.
In the early 90s many of the fans wanted the new stadium to be built in Bolton and we let it be known through these pages. But, no, the directors know better?
My first match at Burnden Park was on a cold Wednesday night in 1962.
There were 33,000 at the match. Bolton played Everton and lost 3-1.
Nevertheless, I have watched them ever since, hardly missing a game until the Reebok came along.
I have been to the Reebok about 20 times, missing matches due to the distance and overall cost Sam.
I can name at least 50 people who don't go to the Reebok now or would like to. How many more people can say the same? Quite a few I would say.
I will always support Bolton, even though the directors have made a huge error in their zealous move to Horwich.
The premiership crowds were a one-off. I could never get a ticket! The London clubs have huge crowds due to the affluence of the area.
