NORWICH keeper Andy Marshall took the rap as Bryan Hamilton spoke of what might have been at Carrow Road.

"Well done Bolton," the Canaries' boss acknowledged, "but we've got to say that we didn't take our chances and Bolton took theirs. To get beat by two set-pieces is a huge disappointment. It's only our second loss at home but it still hurts.

"They were two straightforward headers ... very basic. The lads are very disappointed and Andy Marshall is asking himself 'Should I have come for both of them?' I couldn't see too well from where I was but I'll bow to his superior knowledge of the goalkeeper's job and he says he certainly should have come for the first one.

"But I believe it's the chances we didn't take earlier on that made life difficult for us. We could have been 2-0 up in six minutes. They are important moments in a game: if you go that goal in front it picks the crowd up and changes the away team's perspective on it.

"But it was quite a good game. Technically they (Bolton) were very good and we competed very well. There was a lot of good football and a lot of energy. It was a good contest between Ricketts and Malky Mackay and Malky handled himself really well. "

"Finding faults, we didn't take our chances and defended badly on two occasions."
