GROSVENOR Windows, of Manchester Road, Bolton, has achieved the Investors in People standard.

The company received the award in recognition of its commitment to the development of its employees at all levels. Working towards NVQ is a requirement for all new factory operatives.

In addition to Grosvenor's own schemes, which include all job functions within the company, membership of the Network Veka marketing and quality organisation offers specific training for window and manufacturing installation.

The company employs 54 staff, manufacturing and installing doors, windows and conservatories. All experience ongoing health and safety awareness training, co-ordinated by the company's Health and Safety Manager.

Managing Director Peter Mills commented: "Our investment in training has definitely given us a competitive edge in terms of quality. Our training programme is not expensive -- it's priceless!"

Grosvenor Windows Ltd won a £136,750 contract earlier this year to manufacture and install 150 UPVC windows at Liverpool Community College's four-storey Old Swan Centre.

The installation works were programmed to a strict timetable of seven weeks during the college's summer holiday closure period. Grosvenor fully met the requirements of the college's design manager, Roman Berezowski, who specified and supervised the work.
