WIGAN Warriors are using technology developed by Crown Wallcoverings of Darwen to put rugby league on young fans' bedroom walls.
Crown has spent 18 months evolving a digital process for the production of borders and friezes. The company's design team can lift images, scan them and re-arrange to customer requirements.
Wigan Rugby League Club, one of the first clients, is now marketing a five metres long border which is self-adhesive and attractively boxed.
It features pictures of the club's stars, logos and other images.
Club official Gordon Harrison said: "I would anticipate this product, which is aimed at our younger supporter base, will quickly break into the world of sport and sweep the country.
"For potential retailers only a small stock commitment is necessary, which is easily workable within a budget."
