RADCLIFFE Boro have had precious little time to recover their equilibrium from the 4-1 FA Cup defeat by Nationwide Division Three outfit York before the Stainton Park lads are in action again.
There can be no "after the Lord Mayor's show" complacency either as tonight Leek Town are the visitors for an FA Umbro Trophy replay.
The two clubs drew 2-2 in the initial meeting and now there is the added incentive that the tie victors have been drawn at home in Round Two to face Accrington Stanley.
Fortunately for Boro everyone appeared to come through Sunday's big game unscathed.
"There was just the usual bumps and bruises and no doubt some very tired limbs," said club press secretary John Stringer.
"Sunday was just a fabulous occasion for all the lads. York just scored the sort of goals that they will probably never score again. We were nervous at the start but in the second half we really took the game to them.
"No one was downhearted, everyone was upbeat, because we had played so well. In fact the atmosphere in our changing room was like we'd won it. The lads did themselves justice and that's all you can ask for. Now we have another big cup game and we have to go out and do it all again."
Atherton Colls will be without injured centre back Mark Parry for tonight's rearranged LFA Marsden Challenge Trophy Round One tie at Rossendale Utd.
Following on last week's departure from the Alder House club of defenders Lee Bowles and Paul Cox team boss Chris O'Brien may well include his own name in the back four of the starting line up. Atherton LR entertain Burscough in the same competition.
