WANDERERS will bank on Robbie Elliott's versatility to keep their defensive house in order at Sheffield United on Saturday.
The fit-again and in-form Geordie, was switched to a central midfield role at Norwich but looks set for a return to the left-back berth at Bramall Lane.
Anthony Barness looks certain to miss the game with a knee injury so Elliott - 10 games into his comeback after his early-season groin problems - has been pencilled in as a tailor-made replacement.
The Blades, who drew 1-1 at home with Division One leaders Fulham last night, could be without star striker Marcus Bent at the weekend. Blackburn have confirmed an interest in the former Crystal Palace man and although talks were only said to be at "preliminary" stage this morning, a deal could be imminent.
