I HAVE read with great interest, articles in the BEN about shops closing in Bolton Town Centre. A lot is mentioned about the lack of parking facilities in the town centre, with the result that many motorists choose to visit places such as Middlebrook, Trafford Centre etc.
I do not own a car, and my chief complaint is that there are very few shops with easy access in the town centre where wallpaper, bathroom accessories etc, can be obtained.
If yet more shops are to be provided in the town centre, let them be the right kind of shops.
Also, if I wish to visit a cinema (not often, as I am choosy about the type of film I see), I am forced to visit Manchester, as it's more convenient than Middlebrook or the complex off Blackburn Road.
