Lostock 2nd ... 5
Chorley A ... 24
CHORLEY A took the honours with a fine victory in spite of poor playing conditions at Lostock.
They dictated play throughout and ran out worthy winners after a good team performance in which young scrum half Chris Highton shone throughout.
In spite of early Chorley domination, Lostock opened the scoring mid-way through the first half with an opportunist try against the run of play. Chorley redoubled their efforts and were rewarded on the stroke of half-time with a close range try from Paul Massey. Bernard Hyams stepped up to convert and the sides changed ends with Chorley two points ahead.
In the second half Chorley shut Lostock out of the game completel, scoring three fine tries. Steve Barnes and Tony Dodd and finally Bernard Hyams piled on the agony for Lostock. After the game, Chorley captain Martin Reilly complimented Lostock on sticking to their task, but was full of praise for the Chorley team in what was one of their best games of the season so far.
Chorley first team are back in league action on Saturday with a home game against league leaders Lytham (2.30pm).
