AROUND 400 trees are being planted by the Green Centre, Eccleston, as part of National Tree Week which began yesterday (November 22).
The centre has teamed up with Eccleston's two primary schools, the Women's Institute and a local scout group for the scheme. Around 400 trees are to be planted on Eccleston's Recreation Ground to form a new woodland.
A Green Partnership Award has provided the finance for the project which is a partnership between North West Water, Lancashire County Council, The Environment Agency and six local councils.
