AGE is no barrier for Peggy Carter who has been awarded Student of the Month by Mutlipart's Open Learning Centre for her hard work and determination in getting to grips with the electronic age.
Peggy, aged 88, who lives in Croston, visited the learning centre with a friend last year and has become a keen pupil ever since.
She began with the basic introduction to computer skills and has now moved on to word processing.
"I thoroughly enjoy coming in to the centre," said Peggy.
"I've become quite a regular. I'm now going to buy my own computer and I'll soon be able to go surfing!" Bob Parker, Multipart's project director, said: "It's encouraging to see that at whatever age you can still have a passion for learning.
"It's fabulous that someone of Peggy's age took up the challenge of new technology. It's still a little daunting for some of us much younger learners."
The Open Learning Centre is a Multipart and Preston College joint venture. For further information on courses available at the centre, call 01257 225457.
