'IN the Mix 2000' is back.
The popular music event -- held at Chorley Town Hall -- has been attracting hundreds of dancers and music fans.
And the next night -- Friday, December 22 -- will showcase local musical and DJ talent for the fourth time.
A taster event will be held at Market Walk shopping centre car park on Thursday, December 7, at 4.30pm, when two DJs and live bands will play to shoppers.
'In the Mix -- Part Four' has been organised by Kush Music Development Group and Chorley Borough Council -- who hope the events will be a launch pad for those who want to gain success on the music scene.
Leo Stones, KMDG spokesman, said: "We are committed to providing Chorley with some top class dance events, and we are taking a pro-active role in trying to give musicians a platform."
He added: "People say that nothing happens, but they need to get involved to make it happen.
"We are inviting people to get their name and address off to our mailing list, and they will get a newsletter and information about forthcoming events." KMDG have organised and promoted two In the Mix events at the town hall this year, following on from the success of the original In the Mix at the Millennium Festival in Astley Park during the summer.
The date for ticket sales will be confirmed soon. For further details call the KMDG information line on (07967) 625970.
DJs or musical artists can send demo tapes with a brief biography to PO Box 2037, Chorley, PR6 8GS.
KMDG have teamed up with leisure giant, Leisure Parcs, to host an 'up and coming' DJ contest in Blackpool from March next year.
Budding DJs can send their demos to KMDG Winter Gardens Competition, at the above PO box address.
