NOT before time, Bolton Council has decided to step up security at a Kearsley flat where a pensioner has been burgled three times in as many months.
In the latest incident Mrs Shirley Garstang woke to find two hooded teenagers rifling through belongings in her bedroom.
No wonder Mrs Garstang is angry at the council. She says there is no decent security at the flats where vulnerable old people live.
Finally the council seems to be listening. But only after, Mrs Garstang says, the council have kept on ignoring pleas for better security.
High security at premises where elderly people live should be a top priority for the council.
