A FABULOUS three points. When you are a manager all you can ask is that your players give everything and I was proud of them. We had to work twice as hard as Fulham to get a point in midweek and we had to work one and a half times as hard as Bolton to win this one.

We've worked on that free kick in training and luckily Lee Sandford had been watching what we were doing. I was delighted with the goal and delighted for 'Sanny' because he had offers to join two or three other clubs, who I didn't think were a patch on Sheffield United, but decided to stay with us for a couple more years.

It was a tremendous performance from everybody - even at the death when Bolton gave it a real go. But Tracey hardly had a shot to save.

It's very diffucult playing against a team that only puts one up front, packs their defence and has five or six in midfield. They were looking to catch us on the break, which they do very quickly. I suppose if Sam had known we were going to score at that particular time, he might have attacked us from the start but their tactics have worked very well for them this season - that's why they've had so many wins away from home.

Teams like Bolton, with the quality they've got, will have a lot of the ball but I felt if we went in at 0-0 at half time, we'd win the game because we could only improve. If they'd attacked us from the start it might have been a different result ... but that might have made us play better, I don't know.

In the end it was a great three points against a Bolton side that's been doing very well away from home. It was a great atmosphere and nobody could have gone home early.

Somebody said there were people having a go at us for selling Marcus Bent but I think most people will see it as good business.
