A THOUGHT provoking play followed by a candlelight vigil takes place in Bolton to raise awareness of AIDS.
Community health workers have joined forces with their local authority colleagues to stage the event which takes place on Friday as part of World AIDS Day.
Statistics show that 34 million people currently suffer with HIV/AIDS throughout the world.
To mark the day, Community Healthcare Bolton NHS Trust Health Promotion Department and Bolton Metro have put together the programme of activities at the BASE centre, a young people's housing project in Bolton town centre.
The play, A Mother's Perspective, features actress Tracy Pimlott of Greenhouse NorthWest who plays the part of a grandmother who is coming to terms with the difficult family relationships surrounding her.
Tickets are free and can be obtained from Neil or Jan at the BASE centre on 454950.
