I AGREE with MEP Gary Titley (BEN: October 23) that victims of Nazi forced labour camps should apply for compensation from Germany.
As a child of a Nazi forced labour camp family I was forcefully dragged from my own country and comfortable home, surrounded by loving parents and family, and in the camp I was fed on water and bits of cabbage. For this the Germans, in 1983, gave me DM 5000.
Since 1983 things have got easier concerning filling in forms and solicitors and compensation is higher for the forced labour workers.
I hope that all those that have not applied will do so now.
